Good Advice and Practical Solution ( pdjukic )
What I particularily liked about this "diet book" was that it addressed a specific problem that many people have regardless how much they weigh. It gave good practical advice on what causes belly fat and the steps one can take to loos it. Since I don't cook, the recipes looked interesting and gave me the formula of how to order when I eat out.

Lose that belly flab!
I think this was a pretty good diet for that problem area--the belly! I've been trying for years on this one, but I do think this wouldd work, if you wanted to go for broke and just do it. It's concentrated and a little intense, but most diets are, right? Anyway, I liked it and would recommend it, if you want this sort of commitment. If not, you can try this diet: Fatass No More! How I Lost Weight and Still Ate Cheeseburgers and Fries, which was one of the easiest ones I've ever followed and actually I did lose weight on it. But this one is good if you want to lose those last few pounds.

Not the best book for those experienced in dieting ( j_lee965 )
This book was just okay. I've dieted many times before and would say I know a fair deal about the differences in saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, trans fats, etc. The first half of this book just gives very, very basic dieting information--eat breakfast, keep it lower on the calories, explains the different types of fats, why monounsaturated fats [what the book calls MUFA's] are good for you, etc. The basic concepts of the diet are that you eat every four hours, eat 400 calories per meal, and have a MUFA at every meal. The only part of the book I found particularly helpful was that they gave you specific recipes that included the MUFA's, a short list of specific meals at fast food restaurants to eat, and a list of MUFA's to choose from. The problem I had with their recipes, though, is even though they say they chose items that were popular and easy to find, I had a rather difficult time finding the exact items listed, so I ended up buying things close enough to it. They don't really explain in detail how MUFA's are actually going to make the belly fat melt away, and I have suspicions that it may help you lose belly fat simply because you are eating at least every 4 hours and eating only 400 calories per meal. I haven't been on the diet long enough to see any difference, so only time will tell. If you're a bit of a novice to dieting, then this book would be good for you, but if you're a bit more familiar with how the body works on diets, then you're better off just borrowing this book from the library.
