Product Description
Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there's solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized."

Should be required reading for all humans- bring on one for the men ( billy_goat_books )
I did a lot of research into vegetarianism years ago, when I was single, and was a vegetarian for 7 years or so....but then I got married, quickly had kids....and my husband is a confirmed meat eater. I started our marriage though buying only organic fruits and veggies, brown rice, wheat flour, and thought I had educated him about healthy eating. Since I would not cook meat, he took over a lot of the cooking though after the kids came along and I had gone back to work. My health took a nosedive- from being the healthiest I had ever been- to now, being the fattest- all so the kids (and he) could have the same comfort food he had grown up with. Mind you I am very very grateful for all his help...but....
Well, I have had enough. I know the truth that is in this book. It is excellent to give us all a thunk in the head....which most of us truly do need.
I can't wait for a version for the men to come out.
I would also love to see someone investigate the current American cancer treatments in an easy to read format such as this. For example, if you get cancer at 40 is chemotherapy really GOOD for you longterm if you want to be healthy until you are 80? Or is it really killing the immediate problem and your healthy organs and functions to boot? I would truly like to know if this is also an invention of the very large medical industry.

Good info but PROFANE ( lmcathy2 )
This book contains good information and holds your interest but it is so profane. I can't believe the wording - enough to make a sailor blush.
I thought the title was simply an attention grabber, but it is indicative of the book's content. If they would clean up their language I could give it 4-5 stars. Three is generous.

Another fad diet, based upon pseudo-science and hatred ( wulfstan )
This book is full of non-facts, psudeo-science and outright lies. It's is just another fad diet book, where just like any other of these bad advice books- you can lose a few pounds then gain it all back.
It has a hidden vegan agenda- nothing wrong with being vegan mind you, but why not be honest about it?
Advices goes from the "of course, heard it a thousand times" to completely wacky.
Most of the recipes are about as nutritionally balanced and tasty as eating the book itself.
And, to top it off there's a current and subtext of hateful anger in this book.

This book ROCKS!
I read this book cover to cover twice. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian. I've researched a lot of nutrition information over the years due to my own or family members' health issues. This book is so in your face! I loved it! Beyond PC and any psuedo "sensibility" offenses, this book gives real good info, with a much needed kick in the b**t! I could list several more very reputable resources that corroborate the scientific info. And the menu suggestions are great! Buy the boxed set. For under $20, it's a great bargain for hard backs.
