Product Description
As tools for tuning modern engines have become more powerful and sophisticated in recent years, the need for in-depth knowledge of engine management systems and tuning techniques has grown. Tuning engines can be a mysterious art, all engines need a precise balance of fuel, air, and timing in order to reach their true performance potential. This book explains how the EFI system determines engine operation and how the calibrator can change the controlling parameters to optimize actual engine performance. Engine Management: Advanced Tuning takes engine-tuning techniques to the next level. It is a must-have for tuners and calibrators and a valuable resource for anyone who wants to make horsepower with a fuel-injected, electronically controlled engine. Author Greg Banish is a calibration engineer with extensive aftermarket performance calibration experience. He has a BSME from GMI Engineering and Management Institute (Kettering University). With over a thousand unique calibrations performed over five years, he has worked with enthusiasts and OEMs alike to improve the performance and driving behavior of a wide range of vehicles. The book contains detailed equations, graphs, and illustrations. Also included are valuable and practical examples, including real-world examples based upon the author’s experience that will help more advanced readers apply this new information to situations that are commonly seen during calibration.

Product Reviews:
  ehhh..its a start ( nickname0175 )
This book is basically like an introcduction for some other yet to be published book, it is by no means advanced. There is a lot of introductory info and basic descriptions. If you dont know what AFR is or what a coolant sensor does, this book will help you out...but, if you sitting there with a tuning laptop in front of you hoping to get some info that will help you tune your car, this book is of little value.
  Great book ( richardpbennett )
I had taken Greg's tuning class and decided to buy the book. The book was so well written that I gave to a friend and just bought another.
  Waste of money
Total waste of money. I couldnt have been more disappointed.
No info for the everyday mechanic or weekend racer. Its all engineer BS
So mad I bought this book. Its not what you think it is. its very brief
and had only a couple of pages 2 or 3 on HPTuners In went deep into stuff
you would never use in everyday tuning. Dont waste your money
I did it for you. I cant believe this book was published.

Great step by step process and layout ( jmb92 )
This book allowed me to take my knowledge of control systems and apply it to a vehicle with confidence. Having this information contained in this book is essential when going off to tune your own vehicle.
Its not a advanced tuning, its basic efi book ( rhinospeed )
It's not that the title said, when You enter at the point of specific theme of fuel inyection the autor jump to a "lets to a professional technician" or "it's only for expert". I expect more for the book, other books are more complete with the theme.
