Prior to the Raider game, Favre had started an exhausting 189 games straight (an NFL record) and was nursing a broken finger on his throwing hand since the early weeks of the 2003 season. Rumors of his retirement circulated among the press–he was in his thirteenth year–and while no one said it out loud, most commentators believed Brett was a shadow of his former self.
But what happened in the Oakland twilight on December 22, 2003, is the stuff of NFL legend. Brett Favre sealed his reputation as one of the greatest football players in history.
“I knew that my dad would have wanted me to play,” he said after throwing for just under 400 hundred yards and four touchdowns to rout the Raiders. “I love him so much, and I love this game. It meant a great deal to me, to my dad, and to my family, and I didn't expect this kind of performance. But I know he was watching.”

I bought this with Christmas $$, and before I did, I checked out the reviews on Amazon before purchasing. I read on one of them that it was the same as others and that it wasn't well written. Yes, there is a lot of information that is the same, that's what happens when you read many books on the same person....they still only have one life, and it doesn't change because you have another book out. The reason I like this book as it reflects Brett talking as if you were in the room with him. It wasn't written in a style to be a great novel. It isn't perfectly written but it is true Brett..written from the seat of his pants. Compared to his first autobiography you can see his growth and maturity as both a person, but mostly as a family man. Brett, if you read any of these reviews, you are a very loving father, supporting husband (yes, I read Deanna's book also), a caring person for the underdog, and one hell of a football player. Since I know it is truly impossible for me to ever personally meet you...just know that you would be the kind of friend that I would like to have around. I recommend the book to anyone who wants to "sit down with Favre" and listen to some great stories from the man himself.
Oh, and the DVD is EXCELLENT! Very funny too.

good reading
a very good book about Brett Farve, very interesting to know what he was like as a kid growing up in Mississippi.

brett farve one of the best QB's in one book
this book is by far one of my favorite books it is very well written and you feal like you are on the field watching brett farve and the packers one of the best books ever i sugest it for any big fan or anyone who just wants to learn about brett farve also a great gift to any big fan.

Anyone who loves Brett Favre will love the DVD. Anyone who hates Brett Favre will love the DVD! The book is a bit boring, unless you just can't get enough Brett Favre. John Madden will love it. :)

I bought this for my Farvorite (pardon the pun) grandson who hates to read. I figured if it had anything to do with the Bretser he'd read it.
It worked!!
