Gets Kids' Attention with Art and Science as Friends! ( kidsloveart )
These science experiments all have a flashy art component, either becoming an art project, or employing unusual use of color or sparkle or something artistic and flashy. This is one of those books that boys love around the age of 7 or 8 especially. It's art with spark!! It will get kids' attention and be fun for everyone to do together. For example, I really like Chromatography on page 97, where colored paints or food coloring are absorbed through absorbent paper strips. But there's a surprise! The color pigments separate as they are absorbed and move up the paper, not acting like normal colors that kids are used to. Fascinating to kids, and really pretty to see. The book says : ScienceArts is a fun way for children to learn basic science concepts through easy art activities. (or just enjoy the art!). I vote 5 stars for the kids that I know who love this.

Science made EASY!
This book is simply great. I bought several of Jean Potter's other books so when I found her name on line, I decided to buy this one. It is everything I thougt it would be and MORE! I love art, but never thought the two mixed. This is a book for every kid, teacher and parent!

I never realized how beautiful science can be.
I had never really thought how beautiful and mysterious and colorful and delightful science could be. This book inspires me, a person who has never really liked science all that much. Now I do! And I will pass that on to my kids when we do the Chromatography Art Experiment and separate colors on absorbant paper. Can't wait!

Wonderful way to integrate science and art!
What a wonderful and unique approach to science education! This book is jammed full of one-page "art experiments." The key is to use art projects to learn some science principles. Among many of the ideas to learn are dissolving, symmetry, reflecting light, gravity and friction. The only drawback is that the book could benefit from an introduction on the inquiry-based approach to learning...From The Science Spiders(TM) Newsletter.
