One of the leaders of the New Thought spirituality
This is a thought-provoking little book, that you can take lightly or decide to incorporate into your own spiritual practice. Excellent, has been around for many many years and still attracting readers who are interested in changing their thought processes.

Shinn was ahead of her time ( breema )
Florence Scovel Shinn was writing about the power of positive thinking back in 1928; I think a profound testament to her ideas and the visionary praxis she lived her life by. Her books remain best sellers even today proving they have stood the test of time. It is also interesting how contemporary authors in the spiritual movement today emulate Shinn's themes. Many of Shinn's affirmations are appearing in these books - reconfigured as they are to avoid plagiarism charges - but nevertheless taken directly from Shinn. In some cases it is not even reconfigured but a direct copy of Shinn's creative genius. My advice is go to the SOURCE before spending money on copy cats eager to capitalize on the visionary work of Shinn.

Information good, hard to read
Florence Scovel Shinn's Your Word Is Your Wand is a quaint yet interesting book to read if you are one of the millions of people who are interested in the Law of Attraction. Her style is a bit dated and is although it is written in a language more familiar with the contemporaries of the later 19th and earlier 20th centuries much of what she parlays is timeless.
I was able to finish this book in almost record time. This book was an easy read from beginning to end and was quite thought provoking when looking behind the affirmations that were offered by the author.
Frankly, I had a bit of trouble with the organization of the book as it seemed to meander from subject to subject - sometimes the subjects were related and other times they weren't. This was more of a distraction than an actual impaired message. The layout from the publisher was most likely the biggest drawback. The book was printed in block style and quite often there were spelling and editorial mistakes and breaks in paragraphs, etc. If you could get past this you are the better for it.
Blemishes aside, f you are interested in positive life affirmations though this book is one of the classics and is a must for your personal library.
