 A little too graphic for young children....
I bought this book to discuss the election and the process of voting for president for my preschool classroom (Ages 4-5). I chose this book, as this was the closest to the recommended age that I could find. For the younger children, this book I think would be very disturbing to some children. It is very well written, and thorough of McCain's life, but it has pictures from his time in war (A bomb exploding in a Vietnam jungle), plane crashes etc., and I found that disturbing for young children.
The book is actually written probably at a 2nd - 3rd grade level, although the topics are very adult. It speaks of his first marriage, and how that ended in divorce, as well as the political ramifications of the vietnam war.
Again, while I know it is McCain's past, I thought it was a little much for children to grasp.

I found this book to be easy to read, understand and most importantly very thorough. A good book and an interesting one.
