Product Description
#1 bestselling author Nikki Turner returns with an explosive new novel about a woman at an emotional crossroads–and the men left in her wake.

Isis Tatum knows firsthand the way love can mess up a person. After all, she saw her mother drive a truck through the home of her father’s mistress before killing her dad. And ever since Isis was a teenager, her love life has been a series of disasters: Her first sweetheart was executed by the state of Virginia, and her next lover was sent to jail for murder. Now Isis is a successful jewelry designer, but she remains a failure with men. When she meets Logic, a Las Vegas high roller who treats her like a princess, Isis reckons she’s finally struck gold–literally. Logic sees to it that her custom pieces of jewelry are seen on the hottest rap stars and pro athletes.

But when this Mr. Right ends up in jail too, Isis starts to believe that she’s cursed, that she’s a true Black Widow. Always one to roll with the punches, she embraces her life and walks bravely down all its twisted paths, taking her business to unprecedented heights while letting the men who dare to get involved with her take their chances.

“Few writers working in the field today bring the drama quite as dramatically as Nikki Turner. . . . [She’s] a master at weaving juicy, ’hood-rich sagas of revenge, regret, and redemption.”
–Vibe.com

“Turner [takes] street literature to the next level, further proving that she is indeed ‘The Queen of Hip-Hop Fiction.’ ”

Product Reviews:
  Good read ( antoinetteriley02 )
Even though this book was no I-95 or Glamorous Life, i actually enjoyed this read. I got my copy from the library, since everyone told me that it was not a good read. Im glad i decided to see for myself because im waiting on a part two to this book, or the sequel to Forever a Hustlers wife so she can bring Isis back in the picture with Unique and Bambi.

But i think Lootchee is a character thats gonns be around for quite some time, popping in and out of Nikki's book.
Black Conceals, White Reveals ( hunnigurl )
I am a huge Nikki Turner fan, probably her biggest fan, but she completely let me down with The Black Widow. The beginning started with a bang and I was enjoying this story up until the part about Isis and Logic. The story, then, took a turn for the worst. The storyline was all over the place. There was way too much designer name-dropping. The whole Black Widow jewelry designer thing was meaningless to the story. The ending was completly rushed and I hope a sequel is NOT in the works, because the story was basically pointless.

Nikki Turner at her best ( blackqueen28 )
As usual Nikki is doing her thing. I loved this book. She's still the reigning Queen of Street Lit. Black Widow proved it and I can't wait for the next book.
  Another great page turner...
I have been a big fan of Nikki Turner and she once again delivered a very easy to read & exciting tale from the hood. I love the way her female characters are normal everyday women who learn from their mistakes and somehow find a way to turn their situations around.

Entertaining, Exciting & Fun to read!!!

(RAW Rating 3.5) Betrayal, Greed & Pain ( rawsistaz )
The unlucky number thirteen has plagued Isis Tatum her entire life. First, her mother drives a truck into the home of the mistress only hours after finding out her husband, not only had an affair, but another daughter to match. When her mother is carted off to prison, Isis is then raised by Sam, a colorful homosexual who can ride both sides of the fence when necessary and Isis forges a relationship with the sister she never knew she had. Along the way, the number thirteen has surrounded each one of Isis' disastrous relationships from one lover to the next; from witnessing one man's execution to sitting idly by as others are killed.

What's a woman to do when that much sorrow has filled her waking hours? Isis deems herself the Black Widow, creates a jewelry line that is all her own and sets out to secure her future and fortune; this time boyfriend number three is backing her play. When he is suddenly taken away, he leaves her with people to help her along the way, and connects her with even bigger names that can make or break her career. Ah, there's nothing like true love, even if it's tainted with dirty money and even dirtier deeds. But life isn't always so smooth.

On her own path to glory, her sister, Phoebe, lands in a relationship that is none too good, forcing Isis to put her life on hold and find ways to rescue her more naïve sibling. Unfortunately, the mission lands her in the web of a man who is as deadly as they come. He helps Isis, but certainly has an agenda all his own; and once again the number thirteen plays a part in taking away something more valuable than money or jewels.

Nikki Turner has woven a fast-paced tale of betrayal, greed and pain that is sure to keep her fans elated. The revenge satisfaction factor in this book was definitely the high points; but the character's background led to an understanding of how the Black Widow could be cold and heartless when necessary.
